The 4 Cs to identifying potential leaders

So, how does a leader Equip a potential leader?  If we have a goal of being “3 Deep” by January 1, 2019, how do GNG leaders achieve that goal?

First, you have to IDENTIFY the potential leaders in your ministry.  Begin with prayer asking God to help you IDENTIFY them.  A helpful tool for identifying potential leaders is:

 

THE FOUR Cs

  1. CHARACTER

Does this person exhibit good Christian character?  For example, are they dependable – can they be counted on to do what they say they will do?  Do they show-up when scheduled?  Do they show-up prepared?  Do they possess a positive, “can do” attitude, or do they tend toward negativity and complaining?

 

  1. COMPETENCE

Does this person perform with excellence?  Are they good at what they do?  Do they go above and beyond the call of duty in order to move the ministry forward?  Do they get things done?  Are they open to new ways of doing ministry and willing to experiment?

 

  1. COMMITMENT TO GNG AND ITS SF & PVVF

Has this person been a part of the GNG Family for at least six months or more?  If so, have they taken the CLASS Series?  If not, why not?  Anyone who has not participated in the CLASS Series doesn’t truly understand GNG regardless of how long they have attended.  Have they continued to serve despite difficulty and adversity?  Or do they quit at the first sign of trouble?

 

  1. CHEMISTRY

Is this person a team player or are they more of a renegade?  Do they get along well with the other team members and bring a positive attitude to the team?  Is this person a good follower of the current leader, or do they tend to critique and second-guess?  Does this person grasp the importance of Matthew 18:15-17?
