“If we want to bring up a godly family, who shall be a seed to serve God when are heads are under the clods of the valley, let us seek to train them up in the fear of God by meeting together as a family for worship.”            Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Family worship is a “lost” discipline in the American church. If you are anything like most Christians, the idea of a daily time spent for worship with each of the family members present, engaged, and involved seems like a pipe dream.

Everybody together to watch the game? Check.

Everybody present for the school plays and piano recitals? Check.

Everybody present, every day, to worship God as a family? Uhh…

The problem is that we have forgotten that our failure to bring worship out of church and into the home isn’t normal. Historically speaking, we’re the weird ones. We’re the ones with the misplaced priorities, and the lapsed conviction regarding the things that matter most.

And in this series, we are hoping to reclaim what’s been lost. We’re looking to become a church full of marriages and families and single people who daily practice the critical disciplines of worship in our homes. Because, we believe that if we can restore this critical element of family worship, our homes will become places where Jesus is King. And one home, becomes more homes, which turns into cities, and counties, and more places where Jesus is king.

So join us as we look to scripture and history to discover what family worship is, how our lives are blessed by it, and how to practice it.
